I found a way around the coupler problem and the manifold problem. There is an adaptor for the exhaust manifold to go to the 454 one. There is a company that for 495.00 they will re-drill your flywheel and adapt it for the 454 coupling.
I think I would just redrill the crank and flywheel and use the 454 coupler. The pattern should fit inbetween each other and fill the empty holes with stub studs and loc tight.
