HI all,

I love this Quest DC, it's 31 years old and I still use it a couple times a week. Motor pulls skiers all day long - 1990 150HP Johnson VJ150TXESB

I 'm changing the 30 yr old fuel sending unit. I'm wondering if it's worth the work to take off the fuel pick up rod and see if it has a filter/screen on the end. I doubt it with that small little 3/4" to 1" looking narrow hole. I just worry about breaking any type of seal it has on the threads to get it out and have particles drop in the tank.

I just added an Acor 320-R fuel filter water separator and a new in-line filter in the motor.

I got it a yr ago and have put over 300 hrs on it. I went back to school or I would have had double that in the warm FL waters. So far I have upgraded the switch panels to two 6 switch panels with waterproof swtich covers, added a 4 speaker Sony stereo, VHS with 6ft antenna, Made all the lights LED, new rear drain baffles, a second bilge pump with auto switch also, New 8' long Bimini top, slowly changed the hinges to newer ones over the year and a ton of work on the engine - new steering seals, trim motor rebuild, new starter and rebuilt old one, new fuel pump, horn, marine 2 battery charger.

I'm sure I forgot some things. Nice to find a Four Winns forum!

Sounds like you have done a ton to bring the boat up to modern standards. Lets see some pictures of this boat!
