Post subject:  1993 Four Winns Candia 214

Hello,

My family and I are trading in our desert toys and our looking to get into boating. Since its potentially our first boat we aren't looking to brake the bank. I found a 93' Four Winns Candia 214 that seems to be in great shape. My question is, I can't seem to find too much on the web regarding Candia's? Anyone on this forum have or have had one and what are your thoughts? It seems it will meet our needs as it has quite a bit more passenger room than most smaller boats. Also from what I can tell the Candia might have been one of the first "deckboats" and maybe has morphed into the "FunBoat" series. Any insight anyone can provide would be great!

It does have a windshield and 5.0 EFI FORD/ COBRA OUTDRIVE...which from what I could find sounds like upgrades orignally.

Keep in mind that OMC, maker of the Cobra (basically a good out drive, mines 24 years old) has been out of business since 2000. Some parts are hard to find and some techs won't work on them.

The Four Winns Candia series of boats is the predecessor to the Funship series. They were called Candia's for a long time.

Four Winns has made deck boats for a long time. They are by no means the first to make a deck boat.

The 1993 model is more of the "old school" hull design with a pretty pronounced tri-hull and a relatively low freeboard. They were decent boats. They ride a little rough and you do get a little wet with wind and waves.

Good solid boats though.
