Seeing this on a boat on eBay reminded me, both my 225 did this, and my 268 is starting to also. Both of mine have been strictly freshwater boats. Whats the fix?

same I had, fixed with a PU based paint spray applied.
(first remove the old one by sandblasting..of course)

Is it powder coated or Plastic/Nylon coated? My ladder (old 98 boat) was Nylon coated and the UV had made it brittle, once cracks appear water gets under and corrosion pushes it off.

I shot blasted the ladder, etched primed and powder coated with a full polyester powder (not epoxy powder) this was three years ago and it still looks as good now as when I did it.

I am fortunate to have a powder coating plant at my works, but there may be one near you.

The original ladder on my H260 is peeling the same as yours. I bought a replacement off of ebay but in the end it is not much better after one season of use. I was thinking of having it anodized with a clear finish but may just have it powder coated. I'm going to adapt the second one to the 245 since I like the extra deep reach.

How does the contact areas that rub handle wear with the PC - just curious. As I am considering this fix. as in hinged areas - Thanks

There are nylon spacers on the hinge areas on my ladders, so the powder coating is never in contact with other powder coated surfaces, so no problems. As I said earlier, make sure you use a full polyester powder as epoxy powders are only suitable for indoor use.

I'm hoping the step pads just bolt on/off?

I've got quite a few powder coating shops here locally. I was going to have them recoat the table mount in the cockpit as doesn't look brand spanking new anymore, I guess I can take this at the same time.

I believe the step pads on the ladder pictured are riveted on. It probably wouldn't be that hard to drill them out and replace with screws though.

The step pads on my 2004 ladder are just clipped on; the later (larger) step pads are mechanically attached.
