Hi,
 I'm looking for suggestions for a great polymer sealant to use on my gel coat boat. After doing alot of research, it appears that most people are turning over to polymer sealants instead of wax. I will be applying with a Porter Cable 7424XP DA polisher. What is your favorite polymer sealant? Also, what type of cleaner/polish do you use before applying your sealant. Thanks, Ray

I agree with Bubba. Never found a need for a sealant.
What is you're favorite :?:

If it isn't UV-blocking, it should not go on your boat. And carnauba is a big no-no on boats.

There isn't that much that's new under the sun. Pick a good quality UV-blocking marine wax and go for it.

I just picked this up from on of our vendors. Going to give it a try this weekend and I'll report back, but I think the real results won't be know for months. It has UV blockers in it.

Hi,
After intensive searching along with reviews, I decided to give Shurhold's Yacht Brite Pro Polish a try. Contacted them in which they stated that it is indeed a sealant. I have'nt read anything negative on this sealant. Many detailers will state that a sealant out performs wax due to sealing the pores of gelcoat and or painted surfaces instead of just giving it a top coat of wax. Thanks for all the replies, Ray
