Has anyone upgraded or replaced their cockpit table? I am thinking of a fiberglass table with molded cup holders but I'm worried about the ability to store it. The current table is stored under the stern cockpit bench. Does anyone have a picture or any ideas? |

I replaced mine with one I handmade from wood. I used walnut, stained it dark walnut, with 5 coats of lacquer. I cut a cupholder hole in each corner and used the original pedestal. So far it works great, but it probably wouldn't solve your storage concerns as I made mine bigger than the original. I store mine down below, strapped to the interior bulkhead, fore of the helm. |

How about using accordion hinges. Kinda like a kitchen table that folds down on the ends. I would envision the ends folding up and flat with a support underneath which could be as easy as a piece of wood extending a couple inches. The sides would sit on top when turned into a table. Only challenge would be getting the seam to look acceptable. Or you could make a larger table cut in 1/2 and attached the two pieces to a base for the pedestal. You can use slides like a seat would have and slide the two pieces onto the pedestal and put a lock in the middle so they don't slide apart. |

Here is the table I made. Not the fanciest, but it works... ![]() |
