I just noticed that the boat's keel on my horizon 190 is completely stripped of gel coat. Fiberglass showing about one to two inches from center on each side. What to do if anything?

I had the same boat. I installed a Keel shield many years ago and it worked well. I'd recommend getting the surface prepped and re-apply gel coat. Then install a Keelshield.

Are you saying that the gel is completely off and you can see laminate?
If so have you done glass work before?
If so you can take a shot at it, there are a lot of vids you can watch on u tube to learn the technique.
If you don't feel comfortable it's not a big deal to have a glass shop look at it

+1 on the keel guard. Money well spent!

Even though my boat is bottom painted and has a lot of old paint on it and doesn't look great, the bottom is actually in excellent condition because I never beach the boat. Here we have coarse sand and small rocks so beaching the boat is really a bad idea.
