Hello All, I'm sure this has come up several times before but...

What is the best method and best product for cleaning aluminum window frames?

Has anyone ever use Flitz polishing products?

Also, how do you know whether your windshield frames are coated or non-coated metal?

The aluminum window frames are either anodized, painted, or powder coated. Bare aluminum will oxidize (surface corrosion) and look dull. I have used a 50-50 mix of vinegar and water to remove water spots on windows, aluminum frames, stainless rails, and gel coat for over 20 years with no issues. Flitz or other similar products may work better because they have a chemical formulation or polishing compound that is more aggressive. Follow label I structions and you should be fine.

A word of warning - the window frames on my boat are coated, and if you rub too hard the coating will begin to come off. I replaced all the rubber in my walk through this spring and started to clean the frame, I found if I tried too hard the coating would start to thin.

Steve.
