Hi all
waiting to take delivery of a used vista 248
my dealers mechanic has just told me that when he removed the old boat name (on each side at the bow) where its been in the sun, it has "burnt in" a shadow of the name , which he is going to try to somehow polish out
HE seems "fairly" confident he can hide most of it , but......
any tips?

thanks !

A cut & polish should do it.
If it's bad, you could use fine wet & dry sandpaper and then polish...

Time in the sun will help too.

It's considered 'bad luck' to change the name! (Or at least it is over this side of the world!)
Wet and dry and a polish should certainly get rid.

I changed the name of ours when we bought it. It was only 5 years old so the name wasn't too burned but you could still see it. I used a light compound and it came right out. Didn't even need a buffer machine to do it.
I have faith it can come out if done properly..
