Beginning of the season it gets a compounding with an orbital buffer and then wax, also applied with the orbital.

Had been using the West Marine Teflon wax, but have switched to the 3M compound and wax. We'll see how this goes for a season, or two.

I do my sides once a year and the topsides and deck twice... When I do, I make sure to try and pull the old wax off in teh spring.

The sides I wash and buff/wax. The topsides and deck I wash, clean with cleaner/cutter wax, the buff/wax.

Is that too much?

usually 2 times a year - when boat is not in use it is stored inside so that helps

Hi.
I am used to wax 3 times in a year as my boat is somewhat old and got scratches more often.
