What FW do you have? Where do you boat most?

When you say you have experience in marine carpeting - does that mean that is your trade? hobby?

I see you're a cougars fan, hope you don't mind conversing with a Duck :mrgreen: I work for a marine carpeting company that has done a lot of carpeting for FW, so I figured I'd post on this site. GO DUCKS INDEED!! Tonight they should be stomping arse on the Smurf Turf! I do have a question tho. I want to actually remove my carpet and lay down one of these "x-liner" type floorings so I can enjoy pleasure cruising in the summer and serious fishing in the winter on the mighty Columbia with out risk of mildew or rot. I would imagine with a lil sweat and proper prep this shouldn't be to monumental of a task?

Well, so much for last night's game! :( As for your question, I'm not sure what an "x-liner" is, but I assume you have glue-down carpet on your boat right now? Is an X-liner like a spray-in truck bed liner? Sounds interesting...I've had numerous customers who have had glue-down carpet and successfully removed it and converted to a removable snap-in Aquamat. I'm sure it will take a bit of elbow grease and some clean up, but it can be done!

Hey Corinthian, do you have that 'simulated teak' looking carpeting that FW now offers on their boats? I think Cobalt uses it as well.

It's that camel color, with thin, white stripes?

Yes, we have the exact same simulated teak carpeting that FW uses, with our exlusive Aqualoc backing. Unfortunately, I am about 4 weeks backordered on it now, but I'm hoping to have several rolls in shortly. It looks exactly as you described it--caramel color with thin white stripes. If you'd like a sample, shoot me a PM with your address and I'll I get it out to ya.

Hey Corinthian -- with new boats coming with multiple peices of carpet, is it a priority to try to 'line up' the carpet lines in this case? Or do you just have at it?

I don't have snap down, but would hope for finished borders and a nice backing.

Most people like to have all the carpet 'nap' flow in one direction because it looks better on the eye. So, yes, having the lines line up would probably be satisfactory as well. I've also responded to your PM and sent you out a sample of the 'simulated teak'. Let me know what you think.

All of our Aquamat carpets have finished borders and our pattented Aqualoc backing included in the price. :D
