I am going to tint my windows on my boat. Have any of you done this ? I am wondering if I can put it on the outside of the window or if it has to go on the inside? |

What comes to mind is, will it be hard to see at night. I would not want to hit anything. |

Tint always goes on the inside. I have it on mine. Trying to get the SS look. I see over my windshield so no issue at night. Tint comes in various darkness and is rated based on the amount of light let in. Limo is 5% and your Suv from the factory probably has 35% on the rear windows. |

I am 6'4 so I see over the windshield most of the time anyway. I want to do it just for the look. My friend has done it on his rinker 232 and it really makes the look of the boat. So, for you that have done it your self, how hard is it to get it around the curve ? |

Pay a pro to do it. Tint in Florida is almost a given with the heat and sun and many of the companies have computer programs that actually cut the tint exactly to the window size based on the Auto manufacturers specs. I am not sure they have that for boats, but that would be one thing to ask. If, not, get an old school guy as they have "been there done that" many times and know exactly how to get it to fit perfect freehanding the cutting. Here is what I have seen them do when doing mine if you want to tackle it yourself. They usually lay it out on the outside of the window and get it cut to just a tad bigger. Then with lots of soapy water, peel the tint from the backing...and get it positioned, squeegeeing out the soapy water and use a SHARP razor to trim the edges on the boarder. |
