Post subject:  Cleaning stained vinyl??

Pulled the canvas off for the first time after cleaning the boat and found the vinyl looks like it was stained from the blue canvas top in the areas where it was touching. I tried magic eraser, fantastic, and maguires vinyl cleaner with no results. Any suggestions?

Let the sun bleach it back out?

Same issues had by others on here also (including me) and you've covered the main "cures", except sun bleach or vinyl spray paint.

Agree with that.. I had a bad red oily stain on my white vinyl and was in pieces over it. It's now pretty much gone though - no truer words than time (ie sun!) is a great healer!

I've had the same blue stains from my canvas as well. I worked them for quite some time using Formula 303 cleaner and magic eraser. Even after extended soaking and scrubbing some portions of the lines remained.
After thinking it wasn't going to get any better, I applied a couple coats of the Formula 303 aerospace protectant (boat was new) and stopped thinking about it. After using the boat a couple times, I noticed that I cannot even see these marks any more. It seems like it was a combination of all the chemical soaking in and then pushing the stains out over a little time, becasue they are gone now.
The important thing is to be patient and not to scrub too hard, damaging the vinyl. Some faint stains are better than scuffs or holes.
