I have a 1988 245 Vista and the kitchen and bathroom sinks are very slow to drain. There's no grey water, the water drains overboard through holes in the hull. Any ideas how to clean the clogs? Is liquid plumber safe to use? What if liquid plumber doesn't work?

Thanks

Will

I would go under each sink and disconnect the hose. It is only 2 to 3 feet long, to the hull fitting. It should be faily simple to do.

Harsh chemicals should be avoided, for several reasons. One being they'll destroy the hoses. The plasticizers in the vinyl will not tolerate such harsh chemicals without risk of ruining them. That and the gelcoat surfaces out on the hull. The other reason is the environment, you do not want to be dumping that stuff overboard.

Since it's just hose, and it's short, it's pretty simple to simply clean it out with a brush. Aquarium hose brushes work well for this.

I'm assuming you're doing this on a trailer? If so that'd let you see what gunk gets pushed out. Might be someone's earring or other valuables. Better to get a look at it rather than just pushing it out overboard in the water.

Worst case, it's a short length of hose, just replace it.
