I am going to get an estimate on a seat repair from an upholsterer the boat repair shop uses. I have a 2005 H250. The vinyl belt that was stapled over where the seat vinyl is glued to the seat on the inside or underside of the bolster on the port side swivel chair has been pulled off, I assume from friction with moving the bolster seat up and down. Poor design in my opinion. I was unable to figure out how to get an angle or room to restaple this without taking apart the whole seat. What would be a reasonable estimate? If it doesn't get fixed I fear the vinyl will separate from the seat. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Wish I had a picture. Sorry, it's already in the shop.

Not sure what a reasonable estimate would be, but I understand the problem and agree it's a bad design. You're lucky the staples didn't ruin the surrounding vinyl as the strip was pulled out.

It did scrape and leave a puncture on the vinyl on the front of the seat. It is only noticed by me of course. It is exposed only when the bolster is up, which will be rare at least until it is repaired. I switched the chairs last summer when I noticed the loose strap because the port side chair bolster gets moved so infrequently.

The repair cost 94$. He had to disassemble the seat to get at it. Since I could not figure out how to take it apart without destroying it I guess this is acceptable.

Not bad. I spent $100 to get part of a seat redone, as it was scraped when we bought the boat.

It would be very easy to repair if you actually get at it with the staple gun. But I couldn't figure out how to disassemble it with ruining it.
