I have found that washing the carpet on the driveway with some dog shampoo+ scrubbing with a broom, followed by using the power washer for great results. Having said all this I have just replaced the original carpet after 4 years of service. The carpet was still in good condition, but with the rubber backing, it just held the water and would remain sopping wet for ages unless it was removed from the boat. The new carpet is a marine variety that drains really well, is lighter in weight, and doesn't have a rubber backing that leaves bits stuck to the floor. I have used marine carpet before in my other boat with great results. I used the original carpet for a template and fitted the press studs myself Hope this helps
