What is the best way to clean the canvas carpet protectors in the cabin? Has anyone just thrown them in the washing machine? I am concerned about doing that because the hole for the table leg is not reinforced at all and looks like it could unravel. |

My wife ( the admiral ) said it will unravel, so either stitch it up before hand or she said there is some fabric glue that withstands washing you could also use. |

Well it made it through the delicate cycle but is not completely clean. Since I'm not any good at sewing, I may try the glue and repeat the washing on the normal setting. |

I also used simple green on the canvas which worked better than the Clorox 2 on the grease, so you may want to try spraying that on first, let set for an hour and then wash again.. |

When I was at the dock and didn't have access to a washing machine, I used a Dawn and water solution to wash them and then rinsed and hung them out to dry. The Dawn would get the grease stains out if allowed to soak long enough. |

I had notice that the hole cut out was not finished, so I got duck cloth, washed it first then made my own Bias tape and sewed it on. Happy with the end result. At least I know know that all came with out the hole finished. |

My boat has a 1 yr old custom canvas. Any recommendations on waterproofing products? I've traditionally used West Marine products. |

I put mine in just this weekend on heavy. One piece of carpet yarn came off. Looks great, and smells wonderful! |
