Hi Gang.
The kids decided to suprise Dad this week and clean the boat. Sadly the most effecient way they found to scrub the boat was with a kitchen scourer..
Ouch. I am now left with alot of scratches on the gel coat.
I am not so worried about that. But the decals are all scratched as well.
Is there a product that may give the decals a bit of life.
I am hoping that I don't have to replace them . Mainly it is the decal that is about 4 inched wide (Black) and goes around the whole boat and gets to about 8 or 10 inches wide at the stern. Unfortunatelty they tried especially hard to clean the decals.
Oh.... what can you say when they are just trying to help.
Any help / advice would be appreciated
Tony

I feel your pain...my 3 yr old helped Dad clean the truck...she grabbed a wire brush to clean the door

I don't know of anything to help out the decals. They are vinyl. You may want to ask a local printer or sign shop in your area that prints them. Maybe they have some magic trick.

Surprisingly, the factory striping from FW is pretty cheap to buy. I had a couple of 'chunks' taken out of my stripes when I bought the boat so I ordered some. You can buy it by the foot, so I got 5 feet of the thicker green/grey and 5 feet of the thinner green for the top and it was $12.00 total. He had enough to do the whole boat 2 times over on the roll, too.

As for the bigger decal you described, that may come in higher, but it's worth a try.
