Does any one have any ideas on how to repair the rubberish coat on the back side of the snap in carpet. Mine is starting to fade/turn to dust. I was thinking there was a product you could spread around on the back side - rubber to hold it together. Please any ideas??? |

I had the same problem (Horizon 180-carpet was good, bottom rubber coming off) and was looking for a cheap fix and found one in either one of the Four Winns forums or another place. Anyways, got some waterproof silicone (GE Premium Waterpoof Window/Door/Attic - whatever type you get, make sure it says that it's flexible) cartridges (as opposed to the squeeze tubes 'cause it was cheaper). Covered a small section with a silicone bead, then used a putty knife to spread it over the rubber. You don't have to make it thick, just enough to cover the bottom. It took a while to do, and I think I used about 10 cartridges (about $3-4 each), but it seems to work well and I don't have to replace my carpets right now. I did this at the beginning of last summer, and it seems to be working well. When this goes, I'll replace the carpets. Good luck! Rick |

There's another thread on this forum where the suggestion is to use a can of tool dip and spread that over the crumbling backing. |

Wonder if that spray rubber sealer that is on the tv ad would work. I know it stays flexible. Seems like it would work? |

Any fix you do with stuff is probably temporary, at best. I would suggest a drop in replacement from http://www.snapincarpet.com |
