Yes i agree with being too low. But mine is way to high. I sat in the seats and the sun was not protecting me at all. I have some quotes to lower it with front and side clears for when we get our unpredictable weather in Sydney. I dont want rain getting on the dash gauges etc as there are plenty of egress......

Hi Steve,

there's lots of us Four Winners here in Oz... so any questions, just ask away.

Most of my FW parts to date I have bought from the US. Ditto with my Volvo Penta parts and trailer parts.

Hey mate, do you have the chrome 'FOUR WINNS' badges on yours?

I have chrome looking FW badges on the side and rear I think. You should be able to find any FW parts you need here... http://www.fourwinns.net/partbook/

Once you have the P/N then you need to track down a FW delaer and get them to send it to you in Oz.

Thanks Alex, yeah I have the part numbers. FW dealers in Oz are shocking to deal with (Sydney anyway).

Cheers mate,

Steve

Well all, here are some new pics of my H180 with new bimini with front and side clears. Used the same bimini but he lowered it right down to just below head height (I am 6 foot). Still maintained FW clips etc. The front clear has zipped center window. Great job. Cost me $900 cash.
Pretty happy with it. Good shade for our Aussie hot summers and tropial rain and also keep us warm and free from winter rain.
Only thing left is a swim platform which is slowly underway (Swimplatforms.com) when I can organise freight etc......

Some more shots of the new bimini showing it lower and with new front and side clears. Looking at putting fishing rod holders at the rear. Pics up soon.

As we love our fishing here in Oz I have fitted fishing rod holders on my bimini. Cost $75 and holds 6 rods.
Also fitting guides on my trailer which are similar to these (except not rollers, round cushion pads and higher)
Picture of my swing trailer.
Picture of swim platform that I am ordering from SwimPlatform Superstore soon.

Right'o all. After having my boat for nearly 2 months and because of sinus surgery and not being out in it, I finally was able to launch it. I had new bimini and clears installed some weeks ago.
Here are my pics from the other day.
I have a 4 blade S/S prop (21 x 14) and with full tank of fuel and 2 adults i could only get 42 mph on 4100 rpm. I think I have more room for rpm (max 5000). Might try and put the old prop I was given and see how that goes (3 blade). Mind you 42 mph and lower revs will see the motor (3.0 Merc) last longer.

I think 42mph from a 3.0 is pretty good and seems to be what most others are getting out of this combo Steve even with the stock prop.

Very true. But if I have more people on board and/or skiing or towing the tube, may need more. I have the original prop which I will put back on and see how it goes. They say 5000 rpm is max for these little beauties! Dont want to kill her!!

Hey Giffo, That height looks pretty good (the modified top, not the original!)

I just picked up a 2005 H180 LE/FS and need to order a Bimini top, but I've been debating on the height. The options were basicaly 36 inch or 44-46 inch, depending on where I ordered from.

Would you say that yours is closer to the 44 inch height? I measured from the floor to the top of the gunwale, it was 27 inches, so I would end up with either 63 or 71 inches of walking room. I am also just under 6 feet tall, so of course the 63 inces would have me bending over...but i've also read and agree with the fact that most people only stand in the boat 5% of the time.

I'm just trying to judge height vs. functionality vs. looks...

Will get back to you. I am 6 foot 1 and the height is perfect. The original height was way to high. Now its just right and does not look out of place.
STANDBY!!

Thanks deafwish. SS prop is perfect. Just under maximum revs. CAV plate is an off the shelf one here in Australia for Mercruisers.
Makes a big difference when getting on the plane.

LOVE my swim platform.........
