I had a spot I wanted my VHF radio, but couldn't figure how to get it there... It was too low for the connectors in the back and to read the display...

I wanted to be able to read the screen easily, angled towards me... This is what I came up with: I'd need a riser (preferably plastic to avoid rot) but could never find the right material... Plexiglass was too thin ( and too expensive) for the amount of layers I'd need.. so one day while starting to cook dinner, I found this plastic cutting board hiding in the cabinet- I snuck it out (from my Wife) to my building and found it was the same width as my VHF bracket! I modified it
slightly with some staggered holes and some tiny cuts...

And lined up it looked like this:

So Today it was nice out and I finally got up the courage to drill the dash...

And Mounted, it looks like this:

So Far so good, sits rock solid! Now on to wiring it in....
