I am very close to pulling the trigger on a Alpine xda-100m head unit because I like the screen and interface better than the current models, and it also can use an MC20 remote. Does anyone know if when you turn your batteries off if the presets stay stored in the head unit? I know the new cda-118a does keep them stored but I couldn't find anything on the 100m. The 118 would be nice for the dual zone volume as well. What are your thoughts? I'm leaning strongly towards the 100m because it's cheaper and the ipod navigation is better, I have way too much music on my ipod.

Have you looked at the Fusion. Pricy, but great sound and stuff that the others just don't have.

Just bought one & love it!

I never looked at them before, but that may have changed my mind. Does anyone know how long the remote cord is on the ms-nrx200, and it looks to be waterproof enough for the swim platform? Does the ms-ip700 remember the radio presets after the battery switch has been turned off? The fusion does look like it's nicer than the Alpine.

Finally, how good is Fusion's reputation? I never came across them in my car audio days. Is their sound better than the alpine?

Thanks guys!

You will not find them in any car audio mag. There a true deck/head made for boating. Completly sealed, class D amp, 70W per channel, with a VHF tunner. Never owned an Alpine, but far better than my Sony. I feel that the built in DAC is far better than anthing I have heard short of home audio.
