I'm adding a stereo to the fishing boat, anyone have experience with the brand Pyle? I'm considering one of their head units.

Basic stuff, nothing special. What is the price of the unit?

I still have a Sony in the box from our 268 Vista I never installed. Have no need for it now.

Hey Cap'n, does that Sony have a CD player? Wanna sell it?

It's about $86 on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Pyle-PLCD36MRW-IN-Dash-Weatherband-Function/dp/B004HJ3HMS/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1350660737&sr=8-12&keywords=pyle+marine+stereo

Wireless remote is a pretty important feature in my application as I will be mounting the stereo on the port side of the cockpit and I'd like to have control from the helm.

I know I'm going with the Polk 651's (4). I still have to pick the amp and head unit.

What features are on your Sony unit?

Thanks Cap'n.

I can't remember the model number here at work. It has wireless hand held remote, CD player. mp3 jack on the front, 52 watts x 4. Also plays MP3 disks. It was plug n'play from the old Sony I had on the 268, so I connected it, made sure it worked. Had it in the boat for about 3 weeks and it worked great. But I ended up trading in the Vista 268 for the 282 Monty, and took it out and put the old Sony back in the boat, so the helm remote would work for the new owner. Put it back in the box and have not had a need for it.

I think it is this one, but can't remember for sure.

I'll get the model # off of it when I get home and let you know. Sony changes model numbers so often, I'm sure they don't make that model anymore, but it's barely been used.

Hey! I asked first....besides, you shouldn't add a radio to a fishing boat, will scare the fish

I buy all my stereo equipment from Sonic Electronix, they're awesome and the prices are cheap. I just installed my Polk 1040 sub, amp, box, and all wiring I purchased from them (which is way too powerful for a 19ft boat)

I would avoid the Pyle if you are putting other nice components in it like you are. The head unit is one of the most important things for sound quality. A nice head unit with bad speakers would probably sound better than that pyle with the nice components you were looking at.
