I have a '99 Horizon 220 with orignal radio and speakers. I'm looking to replace the speakers and radio/CD unit. Just want some nice sound, nothing too loud. But am wondering if there is any benefit changing out all of the speaker wires too or just re-use what is there. Certainly easier to just use whats there but if there will be a noticeable difference with new wire I'll invest the time and money.

Is it worth it to replace the speaker wire?

Thx.

On a 99? Yeah, four Winn's used copper clad aluminum crap. Only use oxygen free copper. It will sound better.

On my 2000 (same as 1999), I replaced the speakers, but kept the original wire. Sounds good, so I don't know if it's worth it.

If you're not running an amplifier & your boat hasn't sunk, I personally wouldn't bother.
Going to a 16AWG OFC cable is an ideal upgrage, but ROI may be questionable!
