Looking for some Ideas on what kind of sub/amp and location on my boat.
I have a 98 sundowner with the u shape seating( all white). I would like to see what you have. The pros and cons with the " well if I had to do it again I would have?".

Thanks for your help!

Most subs go below the water, or in my belly.
;)
I put a pair of 12" Rockford Fosgate subWOOFERS driven by a Rockford Fosgate 1200W amp on mine, and it is maddeningly loud.
Can't help you on the location on your boat though.

I made an MDF box and coated it in resin. It sounds great and the lady's love the seat behind the captain now ;) (Did I MentionI'm happily single?) The install came out super clean, but taking a rotary cutter to the bench is a little unnerving as it looked like a really expensive piece to replace. Not to mention the sub was wider that I though from the mounting template when I mounted it. I created a seal with foam tape between the box and the back of the fiberglass. Here's the pics:

To answer your question, "If I were to do it again, would have..." I would have done it exactly the same. The location looks factory, it sounds great, and it just fits. I lose a little under seat storage, but there is plenty of storage on the boat. The seat has some vibration to it was well, which is cool. It doesn't make any rattles, and if you don't mind working a little harder to make it look trick, this is the only way to go.

I left my sub of 4 years in dry dock to be cut into little pieces (SSN 660)

However, on my FW, it is located (factory install) under the bench seat on stbd side. I had enough room to install my #2 batt in the same compartment. I am not a music aficionado as many of our other members are, but it will make all the seats rumble. I have tower speakers too so the sound is somewhat diluted but spread nicely among the 7 total speakers.

Sorry for the hijack but

Walt Thank you for your Service,

What a great history were you onboard when she almost sank or when she punched through the ice in the Artic?
