Coming from the fishing world, I've been using LCD display units (and paper graphs) for close to 20 years.

I'd like to add an LCD display unit to my 2004 230.

It has the Faria digital depth gauge and I'm wondering if anyone has tried to share the factory installed thru-hull transducer with an LCD unit.

I know that some of the other manufacturers provide cables to split the signal from the transducer so it can be shared by multiple units - but I'm kind of doubting that I'll get that lucky with the Faria unit.

I don't yet know what frequency the Faria transducer uses - or what types of connections it has (haven't crawled under cover and dash this morning)...

I just mailed Faria, but I figured I'd ask here to see if anyone else has tried it.

Got a quick (short and sweet) reply from Faria.

Cannot share. Frequency is 235kHz

Looks like I'll be installing a 2nd transducer when I install the LCD.

Electric downrigger comes first though...
