Some people confuse combines with isolators. Many models and styles. I do not know the described model. It was said to be "like an isolator but is a car combiner" thus not a true isolator.

Thanks all for the input. I originally ordered a boss pH 4,400 but it got lost in the mail before Christmas so I got money back and bought a Kicker kxm400.4. The birth certificate indicates total power is 512 rms x4 channel. I'm now deciding on 2 pairs of either Polk audio Mm651 which are 2.7 ohm and 100w rms rated or db651 which are 4 ohm rated at 60w rms. I will be adding a battery isolator /combiner once I do my homework and call the manufacturers. My alternator seems to put out 75amps from what I can find on the Web. Thanks again

Lol. Mm651 are my first choice. I'm now searching hard for a good deal. Db651 are a good deal but I really want the Mm651 and seeing it's a long term investment I will likely buy them. I got a smoking deal on the Kicker amp fortunately Lol. I'm not concerned about installing the components. I will also purchase tinned cables and decent rc cables.

Yup. They have been the cheapest that I have found so far. That is where I ordered the original boss amp from and FedEx lost it lol. I will be pulling the trigger on the Mm651 this week.

Hi. Im looking at 3 products from Blue seas. One is the battery link part number 7611. It specializes in Aux battery starting. The other is the si series part number 7610 which specializes in engine isolation when starting. Is the si the same as the battery link with the addition of starting isolation? I also see they offer a add a battery kit which includes a switch and a si acr part number 7650. Is this the preferred kit? They r closed today so I can't talk to tech support. Any input from anyone here? Also any other input to other models or makes? My main goal is to isolate my Aux battery from my house starting battery yet allow the alternator to charge both banks. Thanks in advance. Kelly

I spoke to blue seas tech support and it looks like I will go with part number 7610 which will allow starting isolation. Now to contact interstate regarding options for second battery as I want to add a deep cycle battery for the amp. I currently have a 27m-xhd as a starter battery. Any input is appreciated. Thx

Two 6v golf cart batteries in series. You'll get 200 usable amps for $150. A good deep cycle 12v from Interstate will run you $200 and give you 35 usable amps.

You can not manual close the relay. Meaning if your starting battery dies, you can not use the house battery. Blue Sea's bigger version ML-ARC, you can. OR add a battery switch to jump across the relay. Just saying....

I went with the kit which includes the switch as well as the si acr. Part 7650. I also just ordered 2 pairs of Polk Mm651. It should be a decent system with the Kicker kxm400.4. The last piece of the upgrade will be a new head unit but perhaps not this year Lol. Now to order cables and goodies. Thanks

Good call going with the kit. Are you going to run a sub?

No sub at this point in time. Going to install phase one and see how it is and if need be I will add a sub the following season. Thanks for the help.
