I may run a small amp for the radar arch speakers.
Can I power the amp from the standard stereo loom red power lead that is 15A fused?

That is, power both the head unit and amp from the same stock source lead on the stereo loom.
It will be a small amp.
I don't want to run a new lead to the batters unless I really have to....

Advise most appreciated.

You'll need a new, fused power run of at least 8AWG.
Depending on how far away the battery is, 4AWG may be a better option.

Like you, I have a lot of questions about amplifiers, but the size of wire for power and ground wires will be dictated by the power requirements of the amp. Speaker wires may also need to be heavier. A 1200 watt or a 2000 watt amp will need much heavier wires than a 200 or 400 watt unit. Check the instructions for the amp to see what is needed. You may be able to get specs on line for the unit you are considering. Hope this helps.
