My stereo likes to cut out frequently. Randomly different speakers will begin to cut in and out. For the life of me I can't replicate the problem in the driveway, only out on the water it does this. I have replaced the speakers with some Polk units.

I saw on another thread on here that these head units can do this so I would like to upgrade mine.

I primarily use mine with the Ipod or phone for music.

It does have the remote on the swim platform, would be nice if that could still work but not an absolute.

I don't want to cut my dash up to fit a different unit, so I am guessing I am stuck with a newer Sony unit?

Any help here is appreciated, Cost isn't my big concern. We like a good sounding stereo and amp outputs are a must as well for future expansion

Thanks!

I went back with this Sony unit

https://www.westmarine.com/buy/sony--me ... ecordNum=5

If you have the basic wired remote, it works great. If you have a wired remote with a display, it will still work, just will not show anything on the display....

I just put a new sony radio in my h180. https://www.amazon.com/Sony-MEXM100BT-M ... rine+radio I absolutely love it. I went from 17 watts per channel to 40 watts per channel. It really kicks my infinity speakers and I now can hear the music while cruising. It also had proper sub pre-outs and I can notice a difference in the bazooka tube sound quality. It also works perfect with the sony transom remote and dash remote that the last radio was installed with. I highly recommend.

I ended up purchasing this exact same unit. Can't wait to install it, but I have to wait for my broken collarbone to heal. :(
(mountainbike accident)

I have seen online where this unit bench tests at a true 40 watts RMS, so it should be a nice improvement for me, even without amps.
