Anyone have or know of an fm transmitter that works well??? I want to be able to transmit the output of my head unit so that others, (friends I raft up with) can tune to my freq so everyone has the same music playing. Thanks.

How big are you looking for? 2 or 3 boats get the Alpine hard wire. If you want 2 or 3 miles (like acouple cruisers on Lewisville) get a CE labs.

Just the boats next to me. Nothing that powerful. TXjole2 can you post a link? A google search of "alpine hardwire" basically gave me links to ski bindings and people trying to hardwire an IPOD adapter to their alpine head unit.

Thank you for the replies. This one http://www.wholehousefmtransmitter.com/ may work. I saw it yesterday surfing, but wasn't quite convinced it is the right thing. Now taking a second look I think this is probably what I'm after. If I end up getting it or something like it, I'll post back on how it works. Anyone with experience with this product or something similar, I'd love to hear about it.

Thats what scares me about that one. Sure doent seem like alot of power.

Uh, we've been doing this for years with the simple Best Buy iPod transmitter. I think I paid about $50 for mine. I usually forget and leave it in the truck, so I don't realize it until pulling away from the dock..... too late to care at that point!

I'd like to hear some feedback on this. Us audiophiles cannot tolerate the poor radio signal quality.

I've tried the ipod ones, $80 at Wal-Mart. It sounded awful even the car 3 feet from the antenna.

The big boy on the cruisers on Lewisville are crystal clear. One guy even has a mic and calls his channel "party cove radio". He plays good music and most people tune in.

Jole - What freq is he normally on, I'll check it out this weekend prolly. I read through the reviews on Amazon for the wholehousefmtransmitter and they are mostly good. The ones on the http://www.wholehousefmtransmitter.com/ website make me suspicious. There are 60 of them or so and all are 5 stars????

I would check into one of the links from WayTooSlow... Those looked right on.

It's the first time I've ever heard of people using these -- shows how much I know! I like the idea though!
