The XTP (Extreme Tower Products) tower speakers on my H240 have gone bad. I hear a crackle noise in one of them. I believe they are still under the 2 year warranty from Four Winns and have a service visit scheduled for next week at my dealer. XTP made the tower, board racks, and tower speakers for a lot of boat manufacturers and have a web site but i cannot find the exact speakers I have on the 2006 model. Has anyone replaced a set of XTP tower speakers?

Also, my son wants to be able to turn up the volume on the tower speakers without turning up the volume on the cockpit and bow speakers. Has anyone tried to do this? I was at a Malibu dealer yesterday and they think you can switch the fader from front to rear and make it fade from top to bottom. I am not a technical guy and won't try it myself but would let a qualified sound man work on it if it is possible. Any suggestions?

the only way to turn up the tower speakers and not the interior speakers without adding an eq is if the towers are wired as either the front or back speakers and the interior speakers are wired as the opposite. Than you simply fade the tower.

The best bet is install a wetsounds ws420 eq. It will let you fade your tower, talk through the tower via a microphone, and lots of other things. http://Www.wetsounds.com

If you don't mind adjusting the gain when needed, just keep a shorty screw driver, and maybe make a few marks for desired settings on the amp. That's what I'll be doing for next season. K.I.S.S.
