I'd like to upgrade my two speakers and stereo (cassette tape) player with a modern CD\MP3 head unit, 4 speakers, and one sub woofer.

The Rx has two speakers located under the rear bench seat. I'd either need to cut in two more speaker locations for the front two speakers (or go with a surface mount.. I also need to locate the amp and subwoofer. I was thinking the amp can go in the side compartment and subwoofer under the rear seat. Any suggestions for this?

I want to run about 200 watts (about 50 x 4) for the four 2-way speakers. And I want to run a sub too. Do most everyone that does their own installs use a 5-channel amp? I am assuming four channels for the speakers and one channel for the sub. I don't want to run all sorts of amps and crossovers. I'd like the install fairly simple.

Does anyone have any diagrams on how these are wired? I looked at crutchfield.com and found some items I think I like. Is there any other good discount places to buy?

Thanks in advance.....

do a search on stereo install upgrades, many have posted results.

I did mine last fall.

I do know crutchfield has some awesome tech support if you want to use them.
The system in your boat is really no different than any auto system.

5 channel & 6 channel amps are popular for this install due to ease of wiring. Most 6 channels can have 2 channels bridged to power the sub. They are easier to find also. Lots of good threads here for details. From mild to wild.
