Looks awesome - did you add to the tower also? Did you use stainless screws?

Did use staineless, they come with the speakers.
I don't have SL money so the tower speakers will have to wait...

Looks sweet!

Ever thought about adding 2 more in the rear?

2 in the front
2 on the sides
2 on the rear

(sounds like airplane emergency exits)

Very nicely done!! I used the same amp in my system after you recomended it. My sub could still use a little help, but I still need to do some tuning on it.

Cougar, there really isn't a good place in the rear

The WS-650's have a lot of bulk & weigh 4 lbs each. Can't find a good place for them that will optimize the sound projection. It's hard to justify anyway with the sound output it has right now.

Looks awesome!

Where did you end up picking the speakers up at? I am looking into what I am going to run in mine. I e-bay searched those and came up empty handed.

Where did you find the best deal?

Awesome! I can't wait to pull my boat out of storage just to hear my system again.

Looks sweet, Brent. I love those covers.

I have a dumb question that I've never really known the answer to. Maybe someone can help me out since it is kind of on point here. I want to do something similar but I want to leave the front speakers as they are. People in the front frequently complain that I've got them too loud when the fade is balanced or even 40% front/60% back. In order to accommodate complaints, I just fade it further to the rear. This is mostly for when I want to listen and cruise and sometimes for when the ladies are sunbathing in the bow and I'm swimming and want to hear my music without invading the seclusion of others nearby on the water.

I'd like to run a 4-channel amp, using 2 channels to amplify only the rear speakers and then bridge the remaining two together to push a sub, and leaving the front 2 speakers as un-amplified.

Will I lose my ability to control the fade from my head unit if I do this?

Nope. Just keep the bow speakers deck powered, feed the amp with the rear RCAs & the NF (non-fade) RCAs. make sure the sub channel that you bridge is fed by the NF output from the deck.

NOLV, you will hardly ever find Wetsounds on ebay. Do a dealer inquiry on the wetsounds.com website. (it will take a while for a response) You stand a decent chance of talking the closest dealer down on price if they can have your order drop-shipped directly from the manufacturer.

I did something similar, I left all four stock speakers in place, added two 7" speakers towards the rear of the cockpit, and then bridged the remaining two channels for the amp. I still have cockpit/bow fade control too.

Brent - looks awesome! I would love to know rough idea of your cost for the speakers and amp. I am trying to get some help installing a similar system and we have the same boat!

Thanks,

To keep costs down I just added 2 more sony's that match the rest of the boat to the rear bench. Just so you know what they look like here's a photo. I did have to make cut out's to the bench frame behind the panel to make them fit. It added a bit of fullness to the sound of the cockpit area of the boat and I put all 4 of them on the same channel so I can fade off the bow for the same reason as others have mentioned.

Amp on Ebay +/- $220

Sub $200
650's $220/pr.

You'll have at least another $100 in cables

Still dirt cheap compared to the cost of the FourWinns "upgraded stereo" and will absolutely murder it in performance.
