I bought the same speakers from Crutchfield $59 a pair. I was a little unsure of the grills on them (Was hoping to use my old white speaker grills but they did not fit), but they look great on your boat with the red and black.

Did you already have speakers in the bow or did you cut them in? I bought a pair for there, but have not installed them ass I am not sure I can get them to fit (ie depth and being able to get at the wires).

I was also leary of the color of the grilles...so was my wife. When I umboxed them last night, the first thing she said was "oh, those arent white". After putting them in, I think the really flow with the sport look of my boat..

My bow had existing speakers up there, so it was pretty much plug and play. I bought a third pair to add to the cockpit area...but in all honesty, probably wont get those in till winter at this point...we will see.

Steve - how do they sound? I think the silver would look great in my boat, since I have the silver accents on the vinyl. Can't say I'm too impressed with the Sony speakers, even with it being the "ultimate stereo upgrade" LOL. Amazon has them right now for $50 a pair with free shipping, so I'm thinking about getting 3 sets - bow, cockpit, and transom - but I'll wait for you to tell me that it sounds awesome.

I have to tell you...I REALLY like them, especially for the money. My 3rd pair will arrive by UPS (if it hasnt already) today. Those will be added to the cockpit area. I am going to then put my bow speakers back on the power of the head unit and just have the 4 cockpit speakers on the amp.

You gonna be around for Aquapalooza this weekend?

I am still debating whether I like the grills or not. I like sporty, but my boat is not as sporty looking as yours on the inside. I guess I could go that way with future upgrades (I hate the wood grain!!! I always go for the aluminium or brushed metal in my cars).

I think the speakers sound great and for $59 a pair from Crutchfield. I also swapped out the Headunit with a Sony CDX-M60UI as my old Sony had no ipod feature. Still looking for a place to mount the ipod.

I'm planning on hitting the lake both days this weekend to send summer out in style. Don't know if we'll make it to the Aquapalooza site - I'd hate to make all those SeaRay owners feel bad about not owning a Four Winns :D . We might wander by, but prolly won't tie up.

Found out my new neighbor from New York is a good audio connection - his brother owns Liquid Audio in Raleigh, where I bought my tower speakers last year. I'm always open to a new hook-up!

Hey - where did you say your wife loaded up on those syringes? We're heading to Def Leppard tomorrow night on a party bus and thought that might be a cool way to get the party started. What did those suckers cost anyway?

Thanks!

I have been looking at the Polk's as well. Are they DB651 or DB651s. The "s" is for the slim mounts.

Very nice! When I had the H200SS I thought about putting a set of speakers there. Did you have to make the holes bigger or just have to pull out the access holes that were already there and drop them in?

I believe he had to make it just a tad larger.

Oh ok. How does it sound now? I have a pair of DB651's mounted in the same location in my boat and really helps fill the cockpit. Now I just wish I had a spot to mount another pair facing the swim deck.

It sounds great. Having 8 6 1/2" Polks may be a bit much in a 20ft boat...but it does sound good!

We will see when we are in the water...if you recall, those cubby's actually have a built in angle that directs the sound out at an angle sort of like this /---------\. Having a pair in each cubby, and at those angles really helps get the sound out and I think will make it much better when sitting in the water with the stereo up....I really think it will direct the sound out of the boat.

Mine are at pretty much the same angle.
