I had the dealership install the IPOD connector on my new Sony Stereo. I see it has a plug that goes right into the bottom of the ipod. Is that all you have to connect or do you have to connect the headphone jack to the aux port as well? |

When you plug into the bottom connector, the headphone jack is not necessary. |

That is what I thought but I cannot get any audio. The head unit senses the IPOD and seems like it is controlling it but there is no sound whatsoever. |

Make sure your volume is turned up on the ipod prior to plugging it in. I would also scan through all of your sources. |

I agree if your set up is the same as mine the aux input is not the Ipod input unless you use the headphone jack. It gives it a generic name for the ipod device. Off hand I can't remember what it is. |

When you are using the bottom plug you don't have to bother with the volume - it works as a line out. Volume adjustment only comes to play when using the headphone jack. Something else needs to be set correctly on your head unit. |

I tinkered around for awhile today. The sony head unit operates all functions of the ipod as it should and even charges it when plugged in. However...no audio whatsoever. Even though my ipod is older it still says it should be supported so I am guessing something is not hooked up right. |

You may check to make sure your ipod has the latest firmware update. |

The Ipod adapter is plugged into the Sirius box, and the cable connector to your Ipod should fit in the bottom docking slot. Try switching your battery over to #2 - I have to on mine for some reason. You shouldn't be using the aux cable that is in the little glove box at all, and the head unit shouldn't be on "aux" - I can't recall what it should show as the source off the top of my head though. |

My battery switch only has an "on" and "off" position. I do have two batteries and am unsure why the switch does not let me select which battery to use as my last boat would. Anyway, I will have to look at the connections to the sirius tuner to see if something is not right. |

Not sure about that - my Perko switch lets me pick between batteries 1 and 2, or to select both. The install is pretty straightforward - it plugs right into the Sirius box. Do you get sound from the radio and/or satellite source on the head unit? How about if you plug your Ipod into the auxiliary cable in the cubby - do you get sound then? |
