I recently purchased a 2005 214 Funship. So, far the only item that does not work is the remote for the Clarion Watertight Etreme Stereo located at the instrument panel (captain seat).

When you power on the radio, the remote display works, but none of the buttons work. I reset the stereo, but no luck. The manual suggested to check the wiring and I reconnected the din connectors along the wiring but the buttons still do not work.

I have not found anything in the manuals about programming the stereo for the remote control.

Does anyone have any suggetions on how to correct the problem?

The Clarion stereo/ remote on my 2004 boat might be the same one; it's not possible on mine to switch it on at the remote, even though the remote LCD display shows things. It has to be switched on at the stereo itself before the controls on the remote become active.
