What does the boat use as an antenna? I get crap for reception compared to the old boat so I pulled my radio this morning to check it out and there is nothing there plugged into the antenna plug on back of radio except about an 8 inch wire which goes to nothing? |

My boat has an approx 2 foot antenna wire which was wrapped up under the dash. I straightened it out along the starboard side and got better reception. Away from other electrical wires is also better for an antenna. A wire can function as an antenna but longer is better. |

tennja wrote: What was it? and did it work? The had an antenna wire that plugs into the radio and is about three feet long. For $7.99 I had to try it and yes it does seem to work. Well so far just in the garage. |
