I see a lot of you are running Polk speakers and for the money they seem like a good deal, but how do they sound? Wife has me on a budget and I need a pair of 6x9's and 6.5's. I see they have a package deal on Ebay for all 4 for $157.00 shipped. What is the diff. between the DB651 & DB651s? |

I love mine. They are the next best thing to going with JL in my opinion. I REALLY wanted to hold out for the JL's...but for the money I couldnt pass on the Polk's. |

Dollar for dollar, they can't be beat. Polk's get you 80% to the JL's... and that last 20% cost you triple what a set of Polk's will (if not more). I'm still a JL fan - but for the dollar - I'm very happy with the Polk's. |

The DB651s is a shallow mount version of the DB651 From the Polk website: - "New slim mount design with short tweeter post for easy fit behind factory grilles." The RMS is a little bit lower, but essentially the same speaker. |

You know, I have 2 pairs of uninstalled DB651's that I was going to use to change out the stock sony speakers but I'm really tempted to just bite the bullet and get a couple pairs of JLM650's. I have all JL Audio equipment except for these polk speakers. I wonder if I'll really hear the difference? JL M6600 Amp JL M770 Tower speakers JL M10IB5 Sub (in a custom enclosure) JL M650 in boat speakers? (I'm thinking yes) What to do, what to do? ![]() |

Put 4 db651's in this summer. Last trip out the boys and wife took a swim to the shore. The wife said they even sounded awesome (very clear and crisp) from 100+ yards away. Love'm for the money and they look good too. |
