I just bought a 09 F204 with the factory Sony's, they do distort pretty bad at high volume. Are they 5" or the 6.5"? Any mods needed to swap them out?

They are 6.5s. Everyone has been replacing them with Polk DB651s. I broke down and ordered 2 pairs today for my mine. I'm keeping my Sony headunit, and I had already added a Kenwood amp and sub.

Thanks Kvou812,

My boat looks just like yours except I added the Wakeboard tower.

I am new at this, been a Mustang guy for 2o years, so any tips and or advice is appreciated.
Looking forward to a great summer.

Mark another one down for new Polk's :D Installed them this afternoon, what an easy install... much simpler than any of the multiple cars that I have replaced speakers in. They sound fantastic, as I knew they would.

It was a factory installed tower. I think it is XTP or something like that who makes them.

I just went to install mine and i noticed one terminal is smaller then the other, does anyone know what size that is? I want to buy the proper connector to wire it in properly.

Thanks

Before you run out and buy new connectors, you might want to pull out the old speakers first, if you haven't already. On my 2008 the stock connectors were already two different sizes and fit nicely onto the new Polk's terminals. I am sure someone else will be able to tell you what the actual sizes are though. Just my .02 to try and save a bit of time.

JCF204 you are correct, the Four Winns factory towers are made by Extreme Tower Products (XTP).

The stock Sony speakers on my 08' already had the two different size connectors as well....
