Hi Gang

Just trying to find out some info about my new boat (seeing as I haven't seen it yet). The specs for the 2009 H180 show a 4 speaker stereo with subwoofer. Anybody have any idea where the sub is, what it is, and how it's mounted? If possible, a picture would be much appreciated!

If its like the 200-210, its under the bench seat on the starboard side (I think starboard side). From what I have heard/seen, its marginal at best and people that really enjoy music dont think very highly of it. It you just want a little bit of punch, it may be sufficient for you. There are a ton of audio threads here...and here is mine:

It's a Bazooka and it's under the "glove box". To be honest.....I never even know it's there.

thanks nh, that was what I figured it would be, and the area I figured it would be located. Not a great unit, but better than a kick in the pants!

I replaced the OEM Clarion 6.5's with a pair of MB Quart RCE216. Added two RCE164 midbass (6.5) under the dash on each side in two small .5cuft enclosures. Tuned to 60hz. Two coats of Kiltz on the MDF. I run a memphis audio 300watt amp to the entire setup and it rocks my H180. Not like tube speakers on a wakeboard tower but pretty damn good. :D

If you go with a custom subwoofer and want loud bass I suggest a vented enclosure and tune the port high say 50-65hz. Its hard to get any real output below 40hz on a little boat in the great outdoors. My .02.

I have a stock Clarion receiver with 2 Alpine M600's in the open bow and the two stock Clarion 6.5. I'd like to add a sub but don't want to find myself stranded in the middle of the lake with a dead battery. Do either of you have dual batteries? I was thinking that if I add the sub I should add one of those battery switches that kill the power when the battery gets too low or add a second battery. Any thoughts? Thanks!

An amplifier will draw a bit more juice, but a subwoofer is nothing to worry about.
