I've seen a lot of praise for the Polks (and the price) but has anyone put in the MB Quart marine units. They are a littler pricier at around $115/pair (and I need 6 of the damn things) but since the speakers in my Funship are sunk back in wells, I'm hoping the wide-dispersion tweeters will provide a little more of the high end that gets lost now when standing or walking in the boat.

I'm going to mate them to a 6 channel JL audio amp (not yet purchased, so if you know a good deal, let me know), and am working right now on building the 2 12" sub-boxes for back that will be driven by a 1200w Sony Xplode amp I all ready have.

I have 2 par of the MB Quarts on mine. Audio shop highly recommended them, and I'm happy with quality. My knowledge is not up to par when it comes to speakers, but I always get comments about the MB Quarts when visiting at a different marina or dock.

Awesome. That's the way I've been leaning. Glad to hear someone else has them and likes 'em.

I just replaced the Clarion speakers with Wet Sounds SW-65-W, a little pricey at $159 a pair; but that is the installed price by the Wet Sound dealer. I'm not a do it yourselfer. I can hear the music clearly at top end speed. You might want to look at them, too.

Finally took the plunge and bought 6 of the MB Quart DKH116's. Installed 4 so far, and even without the impending amp install, they sound unbelievable! Only downside in my boat was that the original Sony MP61's (sound like crap, BTW) use a smaller hole than these requiring me to open up the holes about 1/4" in radius and punch new mounting holes for the screws. A little more time to install than I thought, but worth it.

the last 2 will go mid ship and then in goes the JL G6600 amp! Can't wait!
