Post subject:  upgrade speakers on 248 vista
im looking at upgrading from my stock speakers..i have 2 in the cockpit but i want to add another pair, from reading different posts i have learned component speakers offer good base without the need for a sub...so will it really good with 4 total in the cockpit with an amp the deck is a new alpine that was on the boat when i bought it....i dont have much experience in so im looking for advice about the setup and also what brand of speakers should i consider..thanks

do some searching on these threads, this subject has been covered pretty well.

If you still dont find what your after, would be more than happy to answer.

I added 2 alpine marine 6" to the helm, left the stock ones alone, but wired all 4 cockpit to a amp and rewired all 4 with monster wire. Still added a sub.

Huge improvement. :mrgreen:

I installed a pair of JBL's a couple of weeks ago. Be carefull that the speakers aren't too thick or that you can take off the front cover. There isn't a lot of room for the speaker behind the uphostery.
