I currently bought this amp (http://www.amazon.com/JBL-MA6004-4-Chan ... 863&sr=8-2 )to run the 4 6.5's but was wondering if I would be able run the 4 speakers off the front channel and maybe run one sub off the back channel. Would the amp just get to hot and not work? |

You didn't say how you were going to wire them? In parallel I assume. I'm pretty sure you just reduced the load on the amp from 4 ohms to 2. Is that amp capable of handling a 2 ohm load? Pretty much all newer ones are but I would check. |

Yes, Parallel was what I had planned. Here is a better website to show specs on the amp (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_122 ... A6004.html )but it is 2 ohm stable. I just don’t believe the speakers are rated for 4 ohms. |

You may be asking a lot more from that amp then it's meant for. You may be better off to upgrade to a bigger amp that is 4+1 Channel. Also, if you run two speakers from the front left and two on the front right, that should lower your ohm rating to 4 ohms. If I recall the speaker should be 8 ohms if ran by itself. |
