I just thought I would throw this out there for anyone interested. I recently replaced my
speakers in the boat with Infinity 612m's that have shiney chrome like grills. And I have
noticed on many new 2011 models, that several builders are adding these shiney grills to
their new boats. Different styles of grills than the Infinity's, but none the less, shiney.
Not that they have not been in boats before, it just seems to be in many more for 2011.
I think they add a nice touch to the boats' interior, rather than the traditional white grills.

Comments of any kind welcome. What do you think ?

Will Four Winns jump on the bandwagon ???
Not on the 2011 220SS at least....

I like the look of the shiney grilles. It gives the boat some pizzazz an a sign of luxury. the all white grilles are very sterile looking and are due to be changed out. Maybe the shiney ones are for the stereo upgrade package to try and show others you've got something special ....

I think it adds to the look of the boat. A lot nicer than plain white plastic.

They needed something to complement the stainless steel drink holders. I think it works.

I prefer the white, but that's my personality I'm not into "bling". The new speaker grills are about showing what you ahve, honestly they remind me of the cheap speakers you'd buy at the weekend sales at fair grounds in the 80s. I know they are better, but something yells Kragen to me. I much prefer speakers in my home or anyplace be heard and not seen, I'd rather wonder where the music is coming from.

These are an upgrade on the entry level Glastron GT 180.

I think depending on the boat's decor the "shiney" speaker grills are an improvement over the more commom white grills.

I finally, just this past weekend, installed my 4 new Polk DB651 speakers in the cockpit area of our 328 Four Winns. The color of the Polk's grill really compliments my black camper top and the interior of our boat. My wife thinks they are a nice improvement over the Sony's.

Mike.

That Glastron would look better if the actual grill was black, with the chrome frame.
