I am going to install a 19" TV onto my 02 268 vista. It never had a TV, so I am looking for help. What type of antenna and TV? We would like to mount above aft cabin.
Any and all help will be appreciated. Pics will be helpful.. :D

You can start here. There are different options depending on what you are needing.

Yes, that is a good place to start!!! First you need to answer a few questions (to you're self).

A. What kind of signal, weak, fair or strong??? The stronger the signal the smaller the antenna!! A signal amplifier can help make up for a small ant. too.

B. Were do you want to mount it??

C. Myself, I am subject to tides. At low tide, I start dropping some stations. Would that be a problem for you??

I use a pair of rabbit ears, we don't watch that much TV. I did install a 23" lcd monitor so we could use a netbook to watch movies, internet and TV.

Check out my thread that Capn linked to. A very easy project. I already had an antenna from the factory tv but you can easily add one. Let me know if you have any other questions. Be happy to help.

Thank you, I did. I was generalizing on both the TV and antenna.

Another consideration is, do you want the TV to run on 12v or 120v. You could install an inverter or those over night trips, but it will use more power than a 12v TV. Just something to think about, depending on how you are going to use it.

When adding a TV does plasma or LCD come into consideration? Does either take the abuse of bouncing around on a boat any better than the other or is this not a problem?
