Checked on Saturday and the new VHF and GPS were in. The first tech at the marina tried talking me out of flush mounting the Garmin 541s, he didn't think it would fit. I had another tech look and he said he'd make it happen. Well, I thought he did a nice job and I'm very pleased with the way it all looks. Now I just need to learn how it works!

Nice looking install. I've played around with the 541 a bit. Seems like a good unit. The zoom takes a while to get used to. It zooms into wherever your pointer is, so you need to pan, and then return the pointer to center. That drove me nuts for a while, but will be easy to get used to if you are not switching between multiple units in my vehicles. That is the only that isn't touch screen, so I was used to centering the map, and then zooming into the center. Buy the installer a pizza...he did a good job.

Very nice. You will like both of the units once you get familiar with them.

Interesting...and maybe something for me to consider. I am not a fan of what I currently have as far as GPS goes. It works and on my lake is only really needed at night...thats why its low priority for me. The VHF....not likely I would EVER need it, but the boat already has it.

Nice install. You'll like the 541. I just got a 535s and haven't had a chance to play with it much, but from what I've seen its awesome.
