2008, H240 radio issue... I have had many!

My Sirius radio only works when the ignition switch (Accessory-Off-Ignition-Start) is turned in the ignition position. Thereore, I only listen to it when the boat is moving. I obviosuly want to listen to it while the boat is at rest.

*Anyone else run into this same problem?

The Sirius is mounted under the helm storage. As I follow the Sirius Yellow and Black wire, it plugs into a factory looking plug under the helm. I have been unable to follow the plug wire after that as it disapears into the boat....

The radio runs off the accessory switch, so I guess I can cut wires and splice to the radio. I just worry about cutting and splicing wires in a boat. Any ideas?

2008's seem to be plagued with radio (wiring) issues. Many experience the same issues (all wired incorrectly in the same manner), while others just seem to have a hodge-podge of issues. I have yet to find a "happy" 2008 owner where the radio/sirius/etc are concerned.

If you want a resolution, you'll have to cut and splice. Do some searches. People have addressed this all over. Ric has mentioned some great shrink tubing to help keep everything water resistant.
