As long as everyone is talking about boat shows, I was just wondering if anyone is going to the Chicago Boats, Sports & RV show on January 9-13th.

I plan on being there over the weekend. Interested to see if any big boats will be there. The floor plan for the show looks very much like last year.

There will be some big boats, but it seems that each year there is an ever increasing number of pontoons and bowriders, and less cruisers, and sportboat/cuddys.
We go anyway because it gets me thinking about the upcoming season, and I want to look into having Flexteak installed on my boat.

There are several products out that resemble FlexiTeek. We actually removed ours from the swim platform last year. It was too hot to stand on. I saw a product at the 31st St. boat show last year that did not get as hot. I think it was called NuTeak.

We loved the look of FlexiTeek but we could not use our swim platform when rafted up without putting down towels.

Thanks for the info on Flexiteak. I am also going to check out Nuteak, PlasDECK, and PlasTEAK. BTW where do you moor in season?

I won't be making the show...and I do have Flexi-Teak on my platform. After one season it does get a bit hot, but keep sandals near the platform and your fine. Very easy to keep clean and looks great.

+1. I just like wandering around looking at the stuff all the vendors have. It is a nice mid winter break, and does help get us through to spring! Back in 2009 my wife and I actually met Jnizi and his wife while looking at a 258 Vista on display at the Chicago show. He owned a 258 at the time and was nice enough to answer a TON of questions we had! He introduced us to the broker who ended up selling us our 268....small world huh?

It is a small world and those chance meetings grow into great friendships. Looking forward to seeing our boating friends. This usually gets us excited in the upcoming boating season.
