Well, no real updates but I'm bored so I'll type some stuff out. Boat runs great. A/C works perfect. I didn't do any cosmetics on the AC yet, waiting til my labor day trip is over. Going to buy some batteries tomorrow. I was looking at ways to monitor the battery level and I think I'm going to mount this next to the battery switch:
http://www.amazon.com/Battery-Indicator ... roduct_top

My health has been off lately, been spending boat mod money at the doctor but once I get back ahead in a month or so I'll pick back up and start the mods again:
-Upgrade alternator/isolator
-Onboard charger
-Compatible stereo remotes
-Onboard BTPC (boat theater PC). MK808B Android device.
-Upgrade all lighting to LED
-Small Attwood LED courtesy spot lighting at important places when anchor light is on
-Fix any boat cosmetics/vinyl wear/tear
-1100gph bilge pump

Far future:
-Transfer switch/shorepower connections

Batteries installed. Two giant 220ah 6v AGM UPS batteries that I was given to for free by my father, only used 1 year and sitting in storage. One was sitting at 5.8 volts and the other 6.0... so they're on the charger right now. They ran the A/C for about 15 minutes before the inverter started low battery warning. I only have a 1.25ah battery tender so they might be charged in a week?? hahaha. I think I can borrow a friends 10a smart charger tomorrow.

All that's left now is cut a piece of starboard for the battery cut off switch so I can mount that nicely. It's an absolute pain to reach around inside to unplug the AC from the inverter to shore power from the access hole under the rear seat, so maybe that transfer switch/shorepower plug/onboard charger will get bumped up in priority.

Otherwise, I'm all ready for my first real trip. 3 days on the St. John's River next weekend.

No real changes lately, just been enjoying the boat.

Ordered an Android device to run the TV for in boat entertainment.

Here's a video demo. It's basically a little thumb drive thing that has all the insides of a smart phone minus the phone. I already have a cool logitech wireless keyboard with trackpad to use for it. I can put my phone in wifi tethering mode for internet access. Reminds me of the Logitech Google TV thing i had a few years ago, but this is much more powerful.

Don't mind the mess I didn't clean up after getting everything mounted. One table, two mounts. It's a Springfield 24" table.

Picked up the score of the century at my father's marina. Couple year old Honda EU2000i generator. Some old guy didn't want it because it ran really bad and leaked oil and he purchased a new Yamaha. Sat in his storage for 2-3 years he said and gave it to me for FREE!!!

Got it home, got it fired up. Surged really bad, would barely run the revs would just go up and down like it was about to stall than race up again.

Well, did a full tune up. Drained the 3 year old gas and black oil. Took the carb off and used a sewing needle and brake cleaner to clean all the little passages in the jets and carb inlet. The air filter just crumbled in my hand. Well, got it all back together minus air filter. Poured in some new Mobil 1 synthetic 10w30, a full tank of ethanol free 90 octane and gave it a whirl. Runs PERFECT!!!!

Ordered online a new oil cap and gasket.. because it has no gasket (the oil leak), new air filters, and the DC charging cable. When the parts come in next week I'll change the oil again so all the old dino crap is flushed out. Some of the gaskets on the covers that keep it from making vibrating noises were gone so I replaced those as I had some small weather seal around the garage. Total investment? $60 bucks.

Now I can run my A/C for unlimited AND charge my batteries at the same time!!

Forget the DC charging cable.......the EU2000 only puts out 8 amps DC.......that AIN'T squat!........Get yourself a nice 50-60 amp 3 stage battery charger........

The dealer I bought my generator from back in 2006 threw in a cover and DC charge cable.......I still have the cable unopened in a drawer somewhere.........

The cable was like $12. No big deal I'll take 8 amps over 0 amps in a squeeze.

Where can I find a decent 40-45 amp charger that isn't $500?? I have a 220ah battery bank on my boat for house.

This looks sketchy. Definitely can't mount this in the engine bay.

Installed two new Deka GC15 230ah 6v house batteries today, finally. It was a two person job getting the old 75lb 6v's out. Also stocked up the mini bar.

Since the "post in question" the topic went south with too many quotes of said post. They all had to go otherwise it would have had no consistency. Sorry but that's what I felt the best thing to do was.
