I am heading to Orlando for the first time on Saturday and will be looking to pick up some replacement parts for my 1994 Four Winns 238 Vista. panel switches (blower/accessories/trip/tilt etc) maybe some replacement parts for my canvas enclosure, fill in cushions for the rear seating, deck cushions, cabin locking latch etc... Marine parts are difficult to come by Up here in the great white north (well Alberta anyhow) and I'm looking for some direction on where a guy could go browse. I'm going to take a complete inventory of wants before heading down. I've been in contact with GT Marine in Clermont what are other options.

For those of you who reside in Florida can you recommend any boating excursions or "must see's" that I should take in while there.

Thanks

Ian

I'm not sure you will find many if any of the parts you listed on hand at a dealer in the Orlando area, or any dealer for that matter. OEM parts, especially filler cushions for a 1994 boat are non-existent. Your best bet would be on-line sources for same or similar brand switches, latches, canvas enclosure parts, etc. All of them are easy to find on-line from distributors. Cushions will have to be made by a local upholsterer.

Enjoy your trip.

One thing you can try that might save a lot of time is to e-mail 4 winns and ask them if they know who was the OE manufacturer of those items, you may be able to get an on-line source for many of them. Anything having to do with upholstery, you best bet is a good marine upholstery shop.

Orlando resident here. We don't have any Four Winns dealers. The only Four Winns dealer is about 2 hours away in the Tampa area. You're asking for a dealer that has been in business stocking old parts for at least 20 years, that's a tough one. You might have your best luck in Miami.

Must see? Miami/South Beach. Boating capital of the south. Here in Orlando I can take ya for a spin on the St. John's River, PM me.

Are you bringing your Vista down from Alberta?

Look up "St Johns River" which is cruisable from Sanford (near Orlando) up to Jacksonville.

Look up "Harris Chain of Lakes" with is about 7 lakes connected together with several small towns on the shores.

And the Intracoastal Waterway is great cruising all the way up and down the east coast of Florida.

I keep my boat at Boat Tree Marina in Sanford. The St. John's is wonderful. Soo many places to stop and explore. The city of Sanford just installed public boat docks so you can shop and eat around the tourist part of town on the river. It's awesome.

+1! My Dad took the Regal tour and said he was amazed at the level of quality and thought they put into their boats. Said the tour was a lot of fun and wouldn't stop talking about it for weeks :D

Hm. I should probably do that. It's right next to a strip club :)

No not hauling the Vista.....lol

Sitting in the Calgary airport now waiting to Board.

I'm down for the American Society of Safety Engineering conference so will be tied up with work from tomorrow until Wednesday but as of now I have thurs/fri as free days. I appreciate the offer ric, I just may take you up on that. Was thinking about a bus tour down to Miami. I'm staying at the Point Orland on international drive, no kids coming with so I have no interest in the "parks" I like beer water & bikinis.....

Ah, The Point Orlando is one of my customers. Nice place.

Head over to a place called Twin Peaks for lunch or drinks later in the evening. My friend Amanda works there. It's called Twin Peaks for a reason :)

If you want to see Miami (I HIGHLY SUGGEST IT!!!) don't bother with a bus tour. Just get a rental car and drive down. Go check out Lincoln Rd spend the day walking around. Grab dinner at one of the many restaurants on that strip (Sushi Samba is my fav). Hang out at south beach. Have a mojito. Have lunch at Monty's. Dress fancy and have drinks at one of the many hotels like the SLS later at night. So much possibilities!!!

Thurs/Fri evening I could take you out for a sunset spin on the St. Johns, your hotel isn't that far. There's a couple places we could stop for food/drinks.

sounds good ric...I'll be in touch

rental car is not really an option, I like to pub crawl when I tour. the bus just takes you there drops you off an says see you in 10 hours.

not sure how you guys can live down here the heat & humidity would kill me.... I love summers on my boat, jimmy buffet & cold drinks but snow and sledding in the mountains is my passion.

I'll PM you...
